Le Tour de France 2009

This is one of the nicest times of year for us, when we can sit back and enjoy the Tour de France cycle race. This year's route is very exciting, going the furthest into Spain so far, many mountains to be conquered, and Lance Armstrong returning after a long absence, riding for cancer; Mark Cavendish is doing a fabulous job for the Brits; The commentary on Supersport, by Phil Liggett and Paul Sherwen, is excellent as ever and we were surprised to read that Phil spends part of his year here in Gordon's Bay, small world! we just wish it could go on for longer than 3 weeks and cover more of the scenery of beautiful France!

You can find many websites offering live video coverage if your TV channels are not doing coverage. Map courtesy of letour.fr

It's quite difficult concentrating on my projects which I must finish over the weekend, with such a lovely distraction

We watch this avidly, the scenery is so lovely, particularly in the Alps region. What energy those young men possess!
