something different

I spend a lot of time using other folk's art in my cards and fabric work and whilst I love all of the stamps I use I often think I should use my own bits of art. So when I decided to start to put my coursework from the City & Guilds course I did some years ago, onto the computer, I was pleased to rediscover some of my old sketches and thought the time is ripe to use them! What better time than when making a card for a dear friend's birthday and now that she has the card I can post it here.



I scanned my original sketch and then reduced it down to a manageable size for a card and then printed it. I decided not to colour it, but leave as a sketch as that is what it was to start with. I am considering having the drawing made into a stamp, along with a couple of other sketches, might be fun. The drawing is of a lady in the 1930s dressed for a "Day at the Races" we would visit fashion exhibitions sometimes and draw from the mannequins decked out in historical clothes.
